November Mayflower & Plymouth Rock Board

This board was the most fun board to make. I did it in a record 3 hours. I only had one day to fit it in so I had to rush.
I used 2 really long sheets of blue for the water. I put the light and dark blue sheets on top of each other then folded them in half the short way. Then I drew waves right down the middle of the paper and cut the waves out. I separated the pieces then layered them until I like how it looked. Then glued it all down with glue sticks. I used a white ink pad to outline the waves and add some depth.
I made the Mayflower out of brown butcher paper. Then I used various shades of gold and brown to make the ship look like it was made out of wood. The sails were cut out of white butcher paper and I used light blue ink pads to outline the sails.
Plymouth Rock was made out of black butcher paper and I used the same white ink pads from the water to give the rock some dimension.
The kids will be writing about the pilgrims this month and will post that in the empty space on the top left corner.

Thanksgiving board

So far my boards have mostly just been from what Megan had done last year (pilgrim and turkey).... so thanks Megan :)My pictures are fuzzy this time too and I don't know why. Anyway I just used fake fall leaves that I bought in a little package from Micheals for $1 and the little honeycomb fall pumpkins I got at the dollar store.

Fall Board

Owen's teacher asked me to make a fall tree to keep up for Oct and Nov.
I crumpled up some brown butcher paper for the trunk of the tree then cut out leaves free hand with a bunch of 12x12 papers that I have had forever.
I used 5 green 12x12 patterned papers for the grass. I cut the 12x12s in 3rds then cut fringe on the top and crumpled the tops to give them some texture.
The boarder are orange leaves that came in a pack from Target for .89 cents.

Mrs. Creel had the kids make apples and pumpkins and I think those turned out so cute.
